During session 7 we will read through the directions and rubric for the final project. (You should have picked up a hard copy of these documents in class last week. They are also posted on Angel.)
Here are some links that you might find helpful:
- Sample book review that models the format of the review: MLA citation, book cover, summary of book, critical component, labels. (Remember that "critical" can be a positive or negative evaluation. The important aspect is that you draw on our work in the class to thoughtfully consider the text as a piece of literature.)
- Sample professional/critical resource: Remember that this can be a review of a resource as a whole OR can be a post in which you share a focused idea/question from the resource.
- Link to "public site" at which you'll post one or more of your reviews. (Don't worry about this now, I'll provide directions on selecting and posting your final work later in the semester.)

I have an additional suggestion: I would post "along the way" as you research and read. That way you can get feedback throughout the remainder of the semester, rather than waiting until the final week(s).
I was wondering if you had any suggestions for professional resources regarding lower elementary books with the topic of physical disablilites...I am specifically focusing on wheelchairs. I have 4 books in mind that I want to use. They were mentioned in the Williams article from the Journal of Children's literature. Would that article be acceptable to use for the final project?
I'll bring in what I have to class for our next session. Is the Williams article the one that we're reading for class? If so, please find another article. Otherwise I'm sure it will be fine. (And I'll be showing some other professional resources during our next session which might give you alternative ideas.)
